The Jefferson Hazelnut Tree was introduced by Oregon State University and produces high yields of large, sweet, buttery Hazelnuts. This compact, small, vase shaped tree is beautiful in the landscape and has good resistance to Eastern Filbert blight and pests. Requires a pollinator, the Theta or Eta Hazelnut are both good choices. Nuts are ready for harvest in September. Fall foliage is a pretty golden-yellow.

Newtown Pippin Apple
Newtown or Yellow Pippen is not the most beautiful apple in the world, but has a rich, juicy flavor with a piney tartness. It is medium to large and has excellent dessert quality. The fruit is green, breaking to light yellow when ripe. It ripens late in the season, just ahead of Granny Smith. It should be pollinated with late to late-mid season blooming varieties. Apparently Newtown Pippen was George Washington's favorite apple. It originated in Newtown, Long Island, New York in 1759.

This Tibetan crabapple will be a lovely addition to your landscape. Its foliage is finely textured and very unique for a Crabapple. The form is elegant in appearance with slender limbs that spread horizontally from upright branches. It is also disease resistance. Small white flowers are followed by cascades of tiny golden fruits that may have a hint of red after the first hard frost. Any pruning should be done prior to June so as to not limit the blossoms the following spring.
