Dwarf Fernleaf Bamboo
(plee-o-blast-us DIS-tie-kus) This is one of the smallest, running bamboos available. The leaves fan out in groups creating a look very similar to little palm or fern leaves. It is a little hardier than P. pygmaeus. Can be made into a shade-tolerant lawn by repeatedly mowing with the mower raised to 4 inches or higher or used as a robust ground cover or erosion control measure.
