Viburnum nudum 'Winterthur'
Smooth Witherod Viburnum
Deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub with an upright, rounded habit. White aromatic flowers appear in April to May then form into berries. Initially they are light pink changing to dark pink, then to blue, and finally to purplish-black. The clusters of acidic, but edible berries often contain dark pink and blue berries at the same time. This is very attractive in the late summer to early fall. Foliage is glossy green and changes to reddish purple in the fall. Pruning can be done in the fall if needed. For best flower and fruit display, plant in groupings.
