Picea orientalis 'Aureaspicata'
Variegated Oriental Spruce
The short, glossy, dark green winter needles are overlaid by butter-yellow new shoots in the spring, which gives this cultivar a dazzling effect - easily as showy as most flowering plants. As the summer begins, the new needles turn a dark glossy green. It grows as a narrow pyramid, which allows it to be used in smaller landscapes than most other tall growing evergreens.
